Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Audio Engineer / A2 is integrating audio sources to create a high quality mix live. They may also assist with work calls and troubleshoot various issues associated with indoor theatrical productions. The A2 will also be a primary swing to mix the shows.

Responsibilities

Assist with preshow set up and post show strike responsibilities
Communicate directly and effectively with audio engineer (A1) during run of show regarding microphone and audio system repair requests.
Work with performers and staff in a positive and professional manner at all times
Maintain flexible schedule for work calls and emergency rehearsals
Adhere to and promote all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and maintain a safe work environment
Contribute to the overall success of the Production Department by performing any additional duties and responsibilities assigned

Required Qualifications

Ability to coordinate and deploy RF frequencies to microphone transmitters
Ability to collaborate with the audio team while mixing a show
Works well in a fast paced and high pressure environment
Must be able to run short distances and use stairs
Must be able to stand for the length of a show
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Basic soldering and cable repair skills

Bonus Qualifications

2-3 years of professional work experience in a live theatrical environment as an audio engineer or equivalent educational experience
Skilled knowledge of radio frequencies and Clear-Com Systems

This contract is represented by IATSE Local 720.

Contract Dates: 11/10/25 - 12/22/2025

Salary/Rate: $21.50 per hour

Housing and travel stipends are negotiable.
